1 day in Santorini is better than 0 days in Santorini! And you’ll still have time to soak in a little of this gorgeous island’s unique charm.
We’ve put together a packed itinerary to give you an idea of what you could fit in, but feel free to take out the things that you’re not so interested in and spend longer doing the things you love!
We would recommend you hire a car (we used Discover Cars to find the best deal) or use taxis to get around to save you time, or even better, take a private tour of the island with a driver who will take you to all the best spots for as long or as little as you want.

When Do You Arrive And Depart?
When you arrive and leave Santorini will have some impact on how many days you’ll want here. If you arrive late and leave early then obviously you won’t get to see any of Santorini, so it will be well worth booking an extra night here.
If you arrive early in the morning and don’t leave again until the evening, you can squeeze two days of exploring with just a one night stay!
If possible, always try to aim for early flights and ferries to arrive and plan to leave later in the day. When you book accommodation ask for early check-in if possible, or check that they can hold your bags for you.
There may be a small extra fee for this service but in our opinion, it’s well worth it to get that extra time to explore!

Santorini has a decent enough public transport system but the Greeks are fans of taking things slowly, so don’t expect everything to run perfectly on time.
