Korcula isn’t a huge island (you can drive the whole length of it in 45 minutes) but saying that there is plenty to keep you occupied for at least a week here, depending on what you enjoy doing.

One Day In Korcula Itinerary
We’re assuming that you’ll arrive at Korcula’s port, which is next to the old town of Korcula. This is the main way on and off the island.
The Morning
If you’re visiting Croatia during the summer months then you’ll know it can get pretty hot here during the day. Make the most of the cool of the morning and use it to do the majority of your exploring. Head to Korcula’s Old Town where you can walk the beautiful medieval streets and take in the historic architecture.
Here are a few of the must-sees while you’re here, but make sure you spend time just wandering and taking in the atmosphere too. It’s not the biggest old town in Croatia, but it’s still the sort of place that’s fun to get lost in for an hour or two.

The Tower of Kanalenic is one of the many defensive towers that were once located on city walls. Built in the 14th century, this watchtower served as both prison and arsenal before being converted into a museum with exhibits about Korcula’s history
Kula Morska Vrata
Kula Morska Vrata is the perfect place to take it all in. The views are stunning, with an ancient history that dates back centuries ago when this tower served as both lighthouse and watchtower for its citizens!

You’re already at the best stop for lunch. Korcula Old Town has so many great restaurants that you’ll have trouble choosing where to eat.
Our recommendation is Maha Bar. It’s got simple, hearty food that is perfect for a quick lunch stop before you get on the move again. Dinner is the time to enjoy a longer, more traditional meal (and we’ve got a great option for you below!) but for lunch go for something simple so you have more time for exploring.
Maha Bar has some delicious options on the menu, and although it’s fast food it’s certainly not average.
The Afternoon
Visit One Of The Best Beaches In Korcula
Korcula is full of awesome beaches, so you’re a little spoiled for choice. If you’re simply keen on soaking up the rays and taking a dip in the ocean then the walkway along the harbour is where the locals hang out in the afternoon sun. Bring a beach towel and book, or simply people-watch away the afternoon here.
If you have the energy to go a little further afield, then check out some of the best beaches in Korcula.
Beach Vela Przina is one of the best beaches in Korcula and is close to Korcula old town in the village of Lumbarda (also well worth an exploration). There are also plenty of facilities on-site, so you can spend the whole day there if you want.
Beach Bacva is another great option. It’s located in a small bay, so it’s sheltered from the wind, and the water is always calm. There are also plenty of sun loungers and parasols, so you can relax in comfort.
Finally, Pupnatska Luka Beach is a great choice if you’re looking for somewhere with crystal clear waters. In fact, this is often rated the very best beach in all of Korcula. There is a snack bar here, and you can hire out sunbeds too.
Sunset Kayaking
After an afternoon of relaxing on one of Korcula’s gorgeous beaches, it’s time to get moving and work up an appetite before dinner.

This gorgeous little wine bar is hidden away from the hustle and bustle, but still in the heart of old city with all it’s charm. We had an amazing time here trying several different wines. The staff were friendly and they had great wines from all over Croatia as well as other countries. It’s the ideal way to end your perfect day in Korcula.
How To Get To Korcula
There is no airport on the island of Korcula, so the best way to get here is by boat. You can either get a ferry, or take a day trip here from Dubrovnik.
Ferry
The ferry from Dubrovnik to Korcula takes around 3 hours and will cost about $20.
The ferry from Split to Korcula will take around 2.5 hours and costs about $20.

Korcula is actually pretty far from Split, so it’s not the best jump-off point for a day trip. It is possible however if it’s your only option. Most of the organised day trips run from Dubrovnik, so you’ll want to sort things out yourself if you do choose to visit.
The easiest way to get here is by ferry from the Split port. The journey takes a couple of hours, so you’ll want to leave early and you might even want to consider staying over for a night.
